Our Closest Neighbour in the Valley
Propane Delivery, Tanks and Refills in San Benito
San Benito is the nearest town to the Hino Gas yard on US-83 Business in Harlingen, which makes it one of the simplest places in the Rio Grande Valley for us to look after. Short runs, quick turnarounds, and a counter close enough to visit on a lunch break. We have been family owned and supplying this Valley since 1963, and a good part of San Benito, from the neighbourhoods in town out to the properties along the resacas, has been on our route the entire time.
Nearby areas we serve: propane in Brownsville, propane in Mercedes, propane in Weslaco. More detail on our propane delivery and propane tank installation pages.
Properties Past the Gas Main
Move out of town toward the farmland and the resacas and natural gas service disappears. Propane is what heats those homes, runs their water heaters and keeps their kitchens working.
Freeze Protection
South Texas does not get many hard freezes, and that is exactly why they cause so much damage when they arrive. A propane tank and a standby generator keep heat and water running through the days the grid does not.
Small Farms and Outbuildings
Workshops, barns, irrigation engines and livestock housing around San Benito all run on propane because running a gas line to them was never realistic.
San Benito Services
What We Do in San Benito
Propane delivery across San Benito and out to the surrounding rural properties, Monday through Friday.
Tank installation from 120 to 1,000 gallon, above ground or buried, with site prep, gas line runs and full leak and pressure testing.
Tank sales and leasing, with an honest conversation about which suits your property.
Cylinder exchange and refills a short drive away at our Harlingen counter.
Agricultural propane for irrigation engines, workshops and livestock housing.
System maintenance and leak testing, including the annual check most homeowners skip until something goes wrong.
The Advantage of Being Close
Distance from your propane supplier does not matter at all until it does. It does not affect a scheduled delivery on a normal week. It matters enormously when a regulator fails on a cold morning, when a tank has to be re-sited before a build, or when you need a fill sooner than the schedule allows. San Benito sits close enough to our yard that those situations stay small.
Short Response Times
Being the next town over means a San Benito call does not have to wait for a route day to come around.
Counter Nearby
The Harlingen counter is a few minutes up the road for grill bottles, RV tanks and forklift cylinders, Monday to Friday and Saturday morning.
Se Habla Espanol
Every part of the process is available in Spanish, from the first call through the safety walkthrough.
Rural Property Experience
Setbacks, line runs to outbuildings and tank siting on acreage are routine work for our crews, not an exception.
Why San Benito Stays With Hino Gas
A lot of our San Benito customers have been with us for decades, and several are the second generation of their family to call. In a town this size that is not marketing, it is just what happens when you turn up when you said you would.
Propane in San Benito: Questions We Get Asked
How quickly can you get to San Benito?
San Benito is the closest town to our Harlingen yard, a short run straight down the highway. In practical terms that makes it one of the easiest places in the Valley for us to serve: short notice deliveries, a crew that can swing by on the way to somewhere else, and a counter you can reach in a few minutes if you would rather bring cylinders in yourself. If proximity to your supplier matters to you, this is about as close as it gets in the Valley.
I live outside the city limits with no gas line. Can you still serve me?
Yes, and that is a large share of what we do around San Benito. Once you get out past the city toward the resacas and the farmland, natural gas service thins out fast. Those properties run on propane for heating, hot water, cooking and often a generator. We install the tank, run the lines, test the system and keep it filled.
Should I buy or lease the tank?
It depends on how long you plan to be there and how much you want to own. Buying costs more upfront and the tank is yours, including its maintenance. Leasing keeps the upfront cost down and puts tank maintenance on us. Neither is the right answer for everyone, and any supplier who tells you otherwise without asking about your property is selling rather than advising.
San Benito is minutes from our Harlingen yard. Deliveries run Monday through Friday.
